Crestor (Rosuvastatin) is a statin medication used to treat high cholesterol in patients with a cholesterol-lowering effect. It belongs to a class of drugs known as “bad- LDL,” which is a combination of your heart muscle cells and liver cells. Lowering cholesterol can help prevent heart disease and prevent heart attacks. Crestor works by reducing the amount of “bad- HMG-CoA-reductase” in the bloodstream. It lowers cholesterol by blocking a enzyme (LDL) that is responsible for breaking down HMG-CoA-3 (three or four times more than cholesterol). Lowering cholesterol also helps prevent heart disease and helps lower blood pressure. For example, lowering LDL cholesterol 3%–5% from the low-density lipoprotein (LDL) can reduce your risk of heart disease and other heart problems. It also reduces the amount of “bad-Hb” (“bad-LDL”) in the blood (e.g., by reducing “bad-LDL” "bad”). Lowering cholesterol also helps prevent cardiovascular diseases in people with high homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (“FH-D”) or heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (“FH-Hb”).1
Crestor can help lower high-density lipoprotein (“C-D”) levels by inhibiting phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5), an enzyme that restricts blood flow in the blood vessels that carry blood to and from the penis.2
In people with type 2 diabetes, Crestor reduces blood sugar levels by acting on the insulin-like growth factor binding protein—a protein produced in the pancreas. Crestor also lowers LDL ("bad" or “bad”-LHD) by blocking an enzyme in the liver (L-thyroxine-binding globulin (LTBg)) that is normally synthesized by the liver. When Crestor is used to lower LDL ("bad" or "bad"-LHD) levels in people with type 2 diabetes, it helps reduce blood sugar levels by reducing the amount of "bad" “bad” "good” cholesterol (“good” "bad” "strength” cholesterol) in the blood.4

I was prescribed Crestor 40 mg and my cholesterol went from 300 to 600/10 mg and my blood sugar went from normal to high. I took it for about 4 years and my cholesterol went from 155 to 200/10. I have been very satisfied with this medication and I would recommend it to anyone.

I have a very bad case of the cholesterol stuff, and I would recommend this to anyone.
I took this medication 2 years ago and had my cholesterol checked. I am now taking 20 mg of it and have to take a 40 mg tablet. I have had very bad headaches and have had some to stop the headaches. It is also very difficult to get my cholesterol back. I have been on it for 6 months now and have a good diet and exercise. It is working, but I am having trouble with my cholesterol levels. I have been taking it for years. My cholesterol went from 250/10 to 190/10. I have been on 20 mg for 6 years. I was able to have a low fat diet that was easy to incorporate and a healthy exercise routine. I went through the drug test with my doctor and they told me that it was a good thing it is working and my cholesterol went from 190/10 to 200/10. I had been taking it for years. I was diagnosed with high cholesterol but the medication was not working and my cholesterol went from 190/10 to 200/10. I have also had some other side effects that were very bad and I would like to know what else I can do. I have had to stop taking the cholesterol medication and have been taking the statin for years. I don't have any problems with the medication but I want to make sure my cholesterol is working and I am not having to stop taking it. I am going to have to go back to the doctor and see what the results are. If I am going to continue with this medication, I am going to start the statin and see what happens. I am so scared that I will not be able to keep taking it again.
